Job Summary
We are looking for a research coordinator to recruit patients from primary care clinics in Lexington, Kentucky. This position requires a valid drivers license, a vehicle and phlebotomy certification. The research coordinator will be responsible for recruiting potential participants, explaining the study in detail, acquiring their signatures on the consent form and collecting biospecimens (blood and oral samples), scheduling and overseeing all clinical exams and handling all participant reimbursement. They will be responsible for collecting and entering patient data as well as maintaining communication with Dr. Kuhs and her team on a regular basis. The ideal candidate will work well independently, possess excellent communication skills, and function as a liaison between the primary care clinicians and research team. Training and equipment will be provided before the study begins.

Major Job Responsibilities include: Reviewing study protocol to determine inclusion and exclusion criteria; reviewing EPIC to identify patients eligible for the study; developing a plan for recruitment; approaching potential participants and explaining study in lay language; consenting participants; collecting blood and oral rinse specimens from participants; data entry; obtaining gift cards; distributing gift cards to participants; keeping detailed records on reimbursement and reconciling charges at the end of each month; scheduling participant visits; conducting reminder phone calls; overseeing visit procedures.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Applicants must have a valid drivers license, vehicle, phlebotomy certification, strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Applicants must also have a willingness to receive training on: the EPIC system, REDCap, participant recruitment and reimbursement, biospecimen collection and best practices for data entry.
